June 14th: Greendrinks goes to (a) Brewer(y)

Published by bgreendrinks on

It’s time to cross the bridge folks! Bangor Greendrinks is headed to Brewer. Geaghan Brothers Brewing Company is hosting at their production brewery and taproom at 34 Abbott Street in Brewer. Snacks will be provided by their pub giving you a copious opportunity to get crazy with your beer pairings as there will be 15 different beer options available! Don’t miss tours of the brew house at 5:30 and 6:00. Of course there will be bean bag toss because, well, it’s summer time.

Geagan Brothers tries to source locally when possible by working with over 140 local companies to keep the brewery and pub running. On the roof of their pub in Bangor is an 8.6kW solar panel to help offset the energy consumed in the brewing process. Unique growler club opportunities foster reusable packaging by offering a discount for using their locally sourced and environmentally friendly DrinkTank growler. In addition, all of their spent grain is given to two local farmers to help feed their cattle. The pub then purchases the beef from the cattle at Mayberry Farm in Greenbush to make their “Brew to Table” burger. Their hope is that one day the fertilizer from the farm will be used to grow hops and that they can make a “full cycle” beer!

As usual, Greendrinks is family-friendly, although you’ll need an ID to drink alcohol. There’s a suggested $5 donation, and you’ll want to bring your own drinking vessel. If you don’t, we’ll have compostable cups for $1 or custom glassware for $5. See you there!

Cheers!
