June 28th: Greendrinks is down with OBC
How can I explain it? It’s another bonus greendrinks! This time, we’re helping welcome Orono Brewing Company to Downtown Bangor while raising your awareness about the Bangor Land Trust and Pedal the Penobscot. We’re tentatively scheduled to be at Verve on Main Street in Bangor from 5-8pm on Tuesday, June 28th, but stay tuned in case we have a last minute location change.
In case you haven’t heard, OBC is setting up shop in Downtown Bangor, which will allow brewmaster Asa Marsh-Sachs some room to experiement and play while continuing to produce his regular (read: fantastically delicious) selection of beers in Orono.
As With most of our bonus events, all proceeds from the event will be going toward a special cause. This time that cause will be expanded bicycle infrastructure in Downtown Bangor that we’re keeping secret for now, but you can read between the lines.
Due to Maine liquor laws, your regular suggested $5 donation will get you two penny beers. As always, Bangor Greendrinks is a kid-friendly event, so bring the whole family!
Cheers!

About Verve –
Verve means vitality and enthusiasm. Our mission is to provide these qualities to our community through a fun, inviting atmosphere and quick, healthy, delicious food.
In 2001 Heather Cressey and Abe Furth were undergraduates at the University of Maine. During summer break they put a backpack on an old motorcycle and went on a two month camping trip around the country. While they were in California and Oregon they discovered the amazing food of the roadside burrito shops. The burritos were filling, affordable, and tasted great. They were unlike any other burritos Abe or Heather had ever experienced. They brought those memories home with them to Maine, and decided to someday open their own burrito shop. A couple years later Abe and Heather got married and started Woodman’s Bar & Grill, but they kept their dream of opening the burrito shop alive. Finally, in 2008, the Furths decided it was time to make it happen. They traveled back to the West coast and visited their favorite burrito shop to get the recipes. Abe and Heather tweaked the recipes to make them super healthy, and in 2009, eight years after they had their first great burrito, Verve opened. 2013 marked another milestone for Verve, when Verve Bangor opened! About Orono Brewing Company –
We love beer. We believe in paying attention to every detail, no matter how small, to create the best possible beer we can brew. It all starts with Brewmaster Asa Marsh-Sachs and his passion for brewing. He brews with super filtered water, great malts such as floor malted Maris Otter, and hops from all over the world. We don’t shy away from paying a bit more for exactly what we want, like the Mosaic hop in the Lightning Tree IPA. Asa ferments the beer using a variety of different yeast strains to keep each beer tasting unique, and he filters all the ales except the Witbier. Our custom built stainless steel glycol-jacketed brewery helps Asa get the results that he wants. We sell over 95% of our beer by the pint or growler at the brewery and by the pint at Woodman’s.
