Feb 13th: Greendrinks’ Love Affair With Bicycles
In case you hadn’t put it together yet, WE LOVE BIKES! That’s why we’re heading back to Slipping Gears Cycling on February 13th from 5-8pm to celebrate our ongoing love affair with bicycles. We’ll again be featuringPenobscot Region NEMBA, who received a $2000 green grant in 2017 to jumpstart construction of purpose built sustainable mountain bike trails in Essex Woods. This year, we’re partnering up with Slipping Gears to award another large green grant to benefit the biking community, so stay tuned!
Come learn about Slipping Gears Cycling, an amazing loca bike shop that offers sales and service for all types of bikes. From full suspension mountain bikes to road bikes and everything in between, Slipping Gears does it all.
And learn about Penobscot Region NEMBA, our local chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association. Learn what this great organization is doing to promote more mountain biking opportunities in the greater Bangor area, and to work with local lands trusts, state and municipal agencies and the University of Maine to improve our trails.
And of course, come enjoy some great local beer, wine and food while catching up with all your favorite friends, new and old. We’ll be serving beer from Mason’s Brewing Company, homemade snacks from Slipping Gears and PR NEMBA, and wine graciously donated and made by Central Street Farmhouse.
As always, Greendrinks is a free family-friendly event, so bring the kiddos! There is a suggested $5 donation, and we ask that you bring your own drinking vessel. If you forget, we’ll have compostable cups available for $1, and custom vessels for $5. Proceeds from the event go toward helping Bangor Greendrinks provide grants to fund worthy projects that help make Bangor greener. See you there!
Cheers,
The Bangor Greendrinks Familia
