April 9th: Greendrinks Gets ReStored

Published by bgreendrinks on

We’re wicked excited to have Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor host Greendrinks at Habitat ReStore of Greater Bangor this coming April 9th, from 5-8pm!

Come check out their beautiful new space at 378 Harlow Street and learn about how this fun store is a good deal for you, your community, and the environment.

As a reminder, Greendrinks is free and family-friendly (BRING THE KIDDOS) — we ask for a $5 donation, and to keep things low-waste, you should bring your own drinking vessel. If you forget, we’ll have compostable cups available for $1, and custom glassware for $5. All event proceeds go directly toward improving sustainability and community in the Bangor region through our Green Grant program
We hope to see you there!

Cheers!

Here’s a bit more about our co-hosts:

Habitat ReStore of Greater Bangor accepts donations of new and reusable building supplies, furniture, and appliances from individuals, contractors, and businesses. We sell these goods at 25 – 75% off retail prices to the general public. Proceeds from the ReStore help fund home construction and renovation. Because we build and renovate homes thanks to donations, ReStore proceeds, and volunteers, we can sell them to qualified families in need of a decent place to call home with a mortgage they can afford.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor: We are the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, addressing the needs of people living in the Greater Bangor area.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor has worked in partnership with volunteers and low-income families since 1989 to build 21 simple, decent houses in the local community. Habitat’s affordable house payments free up money for food, child care, medicine, and other necessities. Research has shown that decent housing improves health, increases children’s educational achievement, and strengthens community ties.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry. We seek to eliminate poverty housing and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. We invite people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need of better housing.
