May 12: Greendrinks Turns 10!
We don’t know where the time went, but somehow we’re now 10 years old! Join us on May 12th from 5-8pm as we celebrate 10 years of promoting sustainability and community in the Bangor area. Over the last decade, we’ve held 140 events with 124 local organizations and businesses!
In general, this event will be similar to the one we held in April, where we all grab a snack and crack open a cold one at home. However, we may also have a surprise or two in store for you during the event…
As usual, please free to post on the Facebook event wall to let us know that you’re “attending” the event, to tell us what you’re sipping on or munching on, or just to say “hi.” The photos that everyone posted last month we’re super cool, so keep it up!
We’re also asking friends, past hosts, regular attendees, and others to record short videos, which feature individuals or groups wishing us “happy birthday,” explaining what Greendrinks means to you, and/or anything else you might like to add. We then ask that the videos be posted on social media (Facebook, Instagram) with the hashtag “#GreendrinksTurns10” in the days leading up to the event or on the day of; you can also post videos directly to this event site. We will be making a point to round up the videos and feature them as part of the celebration on May 12th.
Finally, if financially feasible, we’d ask you to consider donating your usual $5 to Greendrinks, and all of the money that we raise on May 12th will be passed on to Partners for Peace, an organization doing critical work during these difficult times.
