Sept 8: Maine MultiCultural Center
Help us celebrate multiculturalism and the diversity of the human experience in Maine by joining us for our next virtual event on September 8th from 5-8 pm. This event will be an online social gathering like the ones we’ve been doing recently, but maybe safely gather with others (social distance, of course), and perhaps even take it outside if you can.
For September, we are featuring the important work of the Maine MultiCultural Center. As they note: “The Maine Multicultural Center is a community-driven group representing Bangor-area business, cultural, and educational organizations. We promote community enrichment and economic growth by attracting, retaining, supporting, and integrating people of diverse cultures and backgrounds into greater Bangor.” For more information: https://mainemulticulturalcenter.org.
Furthermore, we love it when you let us know that you’re attending the event. During this month’s event, be sure to post messages, photos, and short videos to let us know that you’re attending, but perhaps also highlight how you celebrate culture and the diversity of the human experience. The post with the most likes on the event wall and/or in the the new social and networking group Bangor Greendrinkers will win a $25 Buoy Local gift card!
We’ll also be fundraising to support the Maine MultiCultural Center’s important work. If financially feasible, we’d ask you to consider donating your usual $5 to Greendrinks, and all of the money that we raise on September 8th and for a few weeks after will be passed on to the Maine MultiCultural Center. We’ll also be selling hard copies of our Bangor Area Trails map for $5, with all proceeds going to the same organization; to purchase the map, see our PayPal site: https://www.paypal.com/instantcommerce/checkout/2QABGAWQVGS26?fbclid=IwAR0AFusHtkdYWHmaD3QY2V5V0jY7dyFpf5XAC2e_0byiNODahhMDY-yuHnQ.
Finally, be sure to watch when the Bangor Greendrinks Chair, Mark, goes live for “the talk” around 6:30 pm on September 8th.
See you at the next event when we celebrate multiculturalism and the diversity of the human experience in Maine!
Cheers!
