Nov. 10: Greendrinks Helps to HEAL

Published by bgreendrinks on

Join Greendrinks as we set out on a path of community healing. With all that’s going on, these are incredibly tense times, and so it’s important that we all take a bit of time for ourselves, to think about and empathize with one another, and support those organizations doing important work in our community. A perfect opportunity to work on all of this is during our next virtual event on Tuesday, November 10th from 5-8 pm. This event will be an online social gathering like the ones we’ve been doing recently, but maybe safely gather with others (social distance, of course), and perhaps even take it outside if you can.
For November, we had a last-minute organization change, but we’re excited to be featuring the important work of the Health Equity Alliance (HEAL). As they describe themselves: “A community-based, regional, non-partisan nonprofit dedicated to helping empower marginalized communities to eliminate stigma and realize health justice.” For more information, check out their website: https://www.mainehealthequity.org.
One healing gesture would be to help support HEAL financially. If feasible, we’d ask you to consider donating your usual $5 to Greendrinks, and all of the money that we raise on November 10th and for a few weeks after will be passed on to HEAL. We’ll also be selling hard copies of our Bangor Area Trails map for $5, with all proceeds going to the same organization; to purchase the map, see our PayPal site: https://www.paypal.com/instantc…/checkout/2QABGAWQVGS26….
Furthermore, we love it when you let us know that you’re attending the event. During this month’s event, be sure to post messages, photos, and short videos to let us know that you’re attending.
Finally, be sure to watch when the Bangor Greendrinks Chair, Mark, goes live for “the talk” around 6:30 pm on November 10th.
See you at the next virtual event!
Cheers!
