This event will be an online social gathering like the ones we’ve been doing recently.
A cultural mainstay in the community for 125 years, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra is now fundraising for its next chapter, a collaboration with ReVision Energy, a solar energy company (https://www.revisionenergy.com). As the BSO explains:
“Your charitable gift makes it possible for the Bangor Symphony Orchestra to fulfill its mission: to provide our Maine audiences with powerful, enriching, and diverse musical experiences and educational programs year after year, since 1896. During our historic 125th Anniversary Season, we’ve faced unprecedented challenges, and welcome your support, to ensure we are here for another 125 years! This spring, with support from ReVision Energy, the BSO is evaluating its environmental impact. As a first step forward, ReVision will be dedicating renewable energy credits to help offset our carbon footprint from producing this season’s concerts. Thank you for ensuring a bright, music-filled future for the BSO and our region.”
And from ReVision Energy:
“ReVision Energy is a 100% employee owned, B-Corp, solar company based in Maine. Over the past 15+ years we’ve been focused on building a better world through the deployment of solar energy. We have a mission to lead our community in solving the environmental problems caused by fossil fuels while alleviating economic and social injustice. It is with that mission in mind that we are proud to be supporting the Bangor Symphony Orchestra as their first ever, Carbon Neutral Sponsor, ReVision will be dedicating a number of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to offset the electricity usage of their upcoming concert; Masterworks III: Lyrical Wonders and the rest of their producing season. We encourage you to consider donating to this fantastic organization that has been bringing diverse musical entertainment and culture to the community for the last 125 years.”
If feasible, we’d ask you to consider donating your usual $5 or more, and all of the money that we raise on April 13th and for a few weeks after will be passed on to the BSO. As an incentive, anyone who donates will receive complimentary access to their next concert, Digital Masterworks III: Lyrical Wonders: https://www.bangorsymphony.org/show/lyrical-wonders/.
After you’ve donated, please fill in your name and email in this Google Form for your complimentary access: https://forms.gle/rC42UCfyFWojoDHX9.
We’ll also be selling hard copies of our Bangor Area Trails map for $5, with all proceeds going to the same organization; to purchase the map, see our PayPal site: https://www.paypal.com/instantc…/checkout/2QABGAWQVGS26….
There’s also going to be an opportunity for you to win a $25 Buoy Local gift card! Everyone who likes and shares the BSO and/or ReVision videos featured in the discussion section of the event page by midnight on Tuesday, April 20th will be entered for a chance to be the randomly selected winner of the gift card!
We also love it when you let us know that you’re attending the event! Be sure to post messages, photos, and short videos on the event wall to let us know that you’re attending.
Finally, be sure to watch when the Bangor Greendrinks Chair, Mark, goes live for “the talk” around 6:30 pm on April 13th. This is the “Facebook Live” portion of the evening.
See you at the next virtual event when we celebrate the new collaboration between the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and ReVision Energy.
Cheers!
