April 12: Downtown Bangor Beautiful

Published by bgreendrinks on

Join us for our next virtual event on Tuesday, April 12th from 5-8 pm as we highlight the Downtown Bangor Partnership’s Beautification Committee’s Invasive Plant Management Project. This event will be an online social gathering like the ones we’ve been doing recently. Attendees are encouraged to safely gather with friends.
The Downtown Bangor Partnership’s Beautification Committee’s Invasive Plant Management Project aims to eliminate invasive plants in the Downtown Bangor Adopt-A-Garden sites and regenerate our natural habitat through the planting of indigenous plants.
Here are some important upcoming dates:
-April 20th: Survey of invasive species with the UMaine cooperative extension
-April 24th: Initial removal of invasive species in Norumbega Parkway during Downtown Bangor Spring Cleanup
-May 14th: Native and non-invasive edibles purchased with money raised through Greendrinks last year will be arriving in early May and planted during the Big Dig Day
If feasible, we’d ask you to consider donating your usual $5 or more, and all of the money that we raise on April 12th and for a few weeks after will be passed on to support the Invasive Plant Management Project.
We’re also selling hard copies of our Bangor Area Trails map for $5, with all proceeds going to the same organization; to purchase the map, see our PayPal site: https://www.paypal.com/instantc…/checkout/2QABGAWQVGS26…
We also love it when you let us know that you’re attending the event! Be sure to post messages, photos, and short videos on the event wall to let us know that you’re attending. Group shots are encouraged (again, safely).
Finally, be sure to watch when the Bangor Greendrinks Chair, Mark, goes live for “the talk” around 6:30 pm on April 12th. This is the “Facebook Live” portion of the evening.
See you at the next virtual event when we highlight the Downtown Bangor Partnership’s Beautification Committee’s Invasive Plant Management Project!
Cheers!
