May 20: Greendrinks Rides Again

Published by bgreendrinks on

Greendrinks is back! Well, we never actually went away, but we are going to have our first in-person event in 26 months! Join us at the Orono location of Orono Brewing Company on May 20 from 5-8 pm as we raise funds for the Earn-A-Bike program, a collaborative program between the Maine Discovery Museum, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine, and OBC.
Students of the Earn-A-Bike program will learn basic bike mechanic skills and traffic safety skills for riding on the road. At the end of the program, graduates will receive a fully refurbished bicycle and a new helmet, lock, safety lights, and an at-home repair kit. For more information: https://www.bikemaine.org/earn-a-bike-program/.
This will be an outdoor event in OBC’s beer garden. OBC will be pouring alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, plus there will be a fry/tater tot bar to munch on. Folks involved with the Earn-A-Bike program will also be on hand doing demonstrations. Do note that this event is not on our usual second Tuesday of the month. Events might be on different nights for a while as we get back into the swing of things.
As always, Greendrinks is a free family-friendly event, so bring the kiddos! There is a suggested $5 donation, and with your donation you’ll receive a drink ticket, reduced drink prices for subsequent beverages, and access to the fry/tater tot bar. As mentioned, proceeds from the event will go toward the Earn-A-Bike program.
We hope you’re as excited to see us as we are to see you! See you there!
Cheers,
The Bangor Greendrinks Familia
