Aug 8: Greendrinks Parties Like It’s 1899

Published by bgreendrinks on

We’re going on a summer field trip! Join us at our next event at 19th Century Curran Village on August 8th from 5-7 pm!
This month, we’ll be visiting 19th Century Curran Village, a recent recipient of one our Green Grants. 19th Century Curran Village collects, preserves and utilizes historic artifacts and buildings for the purpose of exhibition, living history, traditional arts programming, and hands-on education, and in so doing keeping lots of materials out of landfills. You will have the opportunity to tour some of their historic buildings, plus you’ll be able to ride the carousel from the late 19th century (no drinks or food in the carousel building, please)! How cool is that?!
Our friends the Home Brewers of Greater Bangor will also be joining the fun at this event. Several of the brewers will be there, and attendees will get the chance to sample the wares and vote for their favorite beer. The winning brewer gets a prize (and bragging rights)!
The Home Brewers of Greater Bangor will be pouring their beers. There will also be wine and non-alcoholic beverages, and 19th Century Curran Village will be providing snacks. Remember to bring your own drinking vessel!
SPECIAL NOTE RE: ACCESSIBILITY: Parking at 19th Century Curran Village is limited, so vehicles will need to be parked along the main road, on the side opposite of the village. There will be volunteers to help guide vehicles. This will also mean that there will be some walking to get to the event, some of which will be over uneven ground.
As always, Greendrinks is a free, family-friendly event, so bring the kiddos! There is a suggested $5 donation. Funds raised from the event will go to our Green Grants program, which are micro grants for local environmental projects.
See you at the next event at 19th Century Curran Village!
Cheers!
